AI Scripts / Re: Enhanced AI Patch for ZERG
February 28, 2010, 07:29:43 AM
Basically, from what I've been reading you just place this file in that directory mentioned in the initial post and you're good to go.

Now both Zerg and Terran have solid AI apparently.

Also, installing this overrides Starcrack v3.0, am I right ? So if you do get a Protoss opponent it's brain dead.
Of course you could probably always just delete this TriggerLibs stuff and you get SC3.0.

Can anyone confirm my understanding is correct ? Don't have time to test them now..

I write this post because many people are confused...
Please could anyone explain what we should do to play starcraft 2 (sandbox, ai or wahtever...)
I think that we need here a full tutorial - from begining (what and where to download) and what to do...
thanks in advance

I can tell you what worked for me yesterday evening when I was also probably among the first here to dld the .zip and play with no AI:

1. Dld the client from piratebay...about 1.86Gb
2. Install the game and let it update...then exit the installer
3. Dld the LazyTeam patcher/loader
4. Get some maps from here: http://www.nibbits.com/sc2/maps/browse/?sort=rank&order=desc and make a directory on your desktop to place these files
4. Decompress and run Lazy Loader, wait for a bit, it takes some time to load
5. Go to your directory on Desktop, load a map and the game starts automatically
6. Select return to game when you start game

7. You can also dld a map smb created here where instead of playing by yourself you can play against a swarm of units just sitting around.

I can honestly say I have the answer to this question: I wasn't selected for the beta because...I didn't apply ! I only ever bought SC1 and War3 + FT but have no clue where those discs ended up (last played War 3 some 3 years ago, moved to a different country since then etc).

I'm just glad DarkBlizz selected me for the beta :P:P.

Good job, this is definitely some clean fun > playing alone.

Can a veteran of these forums or an official dev please post a walk-through or something because a 500kb .exe that my antivirus is picking up is not looking trustworthy at fucking all.

All of you are installing viruses onto your computers. The teknogods site was obviously taken down by an elite group of hackers and they placed their virus on it that you're all willfully downloading.

Not to mention all the people that are saying OMG ITS WORKSL OOLOL IM PLAYING all registered to the forum JUST TODAY. I know I registered just today as well, but hopefully my words of wisdom will be seen.

Nah, it's actually working, virus or not. It'll be pretty funny for a while, seeing how you randomly get each race and game time is virtually endless...hopefully before we all get bored more development will be done.

with no AI its boring:D

Tru...but there are lots of things you can do to get u on the road to being a better player.  Practicing Macro speed...getting used to new hotkeys...familiarizing yourself with maps and all three races...etc etc....its at the very least more fun than making posts on battle.net complaining about not having a beta key.  :D

I have practiced and successfully deployed a Collossus rush on a bunch of rocks. Who rocks now, huh ?

Tutorial to have fun with the crack:

1 - Build a large army
2 - Test your micro skills while forcing your units to atack each other
3 - Atack the protecting rocks

haha canot believe I am actually having a great time just doing this

Nah the best thing you can do is click on one unit at a time for 20+ times to hear all their lines. They are, as always with Blizzard, HILARIOUS. I almost fell off my chair laughing...try it :) )

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE UPLOAD THE FILE THROUGH A FILE-HOSTING SITE?

I do not have a torrent here, but I want to examine the files.

Here you go

ITS NOT A VIRUS
stop god damn saying that and enjoy this sexy game

You mean enjoy building a big army and then let them cannibalize each other ? :P

I haven't tried it yet. Waiting for more reliable sources to confirm it works. Virus is reported, but it may be false alarm.

How many MB is/are the file/files?

500KB, and you get a txt claiming it might show up as a virus but it's really not and then a .zip file which only has an .exe in it, but then again, you can't really decompress it. I just peeked inside...

I downloaded it but can't decompress...goes unexpected end of archive...huh

I know, the game has been finished for a long time now I'd say at least a year. They have had the professionals playing on them for ages, helping with the balancing. The beta is of course just for balancing issues, but I think the main reason for the delay has been the net battle.net. They've completely re-written it from the old one to make it better and I think that's produced a lot of bugs for them to iron out over the last few years.

True that. I remember when the beta was about to be released, Gamespot was mentioning how the game is "Well on track for a mid-2010 release as planned"...and Battle.net the main reason for the delay.

I'm not sure pros have been helping out with the balancing for ages, coz this new beta version brought some radical changes, and I was personally very surprised to see abilities go in and out (Protoss took a pretty big hit imho, what the hell are they doing to the mothership?:O).

Anyway, I'm off topic with that one. To the point, there's a definite mid-'10 planned release. Hopefully, on track.

I may be way off on this one, but it may be something Blizzard has done on purpose to "stop" all this massive assault on the beta that may have long term consequences going into full release. It's as if they wanted this "test game" to be found so that it all calms down for a while...I think anyway some connection with the crack popping up right after the update (and claiming thanks for v14093) has gotta go beyond the obvious.

No disrespect for the developers, of course, we wouldn't be here talking about this without their work. Fantastic effort either way ! we love you guys :) .
