Title: Starcraft II Beta Multiplayer Crack 2/20/2010 = fake?
Post by: paranoid on February 27, 2010, 12:56:40 AM
[edit]
The following 2 videos are 100% confirmed fake. DO NOT INSTALL IT.
[/edit]

I found this today (after searching for a video demonstrating the lazytown crack):
Starcraft II Beta Multiplayer Crack 2/20/2010 - Download and Demonstration (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kqMvmbP8id0#ws)

Almost same video with different links:
Star Craft II Beta Multiplayer Bypass!!! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cc_onMN9WJQ#ws)

It seems to require battle.net login info, so I'm guessing it's a keylogger or worse and not a real crack, especially since the video was posted on the 20th and says it already allows online multiplayer...

Still, I would like some confirmation on this. Is it a fake?
If it is, users should be warned.

P.S.: The correct video I was looking for: SC2 - Beta Working Offline (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5jK3FzrGXJg#)

I havent tested but im leaning towards 99.9% fake.
A) No link for this would stay hidden, if its a torrent or a filehosted site, people would re-up it to share with the rest of the world, as seen with a SANDBOX mode, nevermind fully functioning opponents or real.
B) It requires you to complete an offer, this is the big one. Its more than likely simply him wanting to cash in on desperate gamers
C) I'm gonna bet he got a beta key then planned this all out, or just voiced over someone else's video

Even if only one of the above is true, you'd want to steer clear of it ;)

Thanks.

I didn't even notice the offer to complete you mentioned.  :D
Had to allow it in noscript first.

While I'm at it: Is this fake too?: http://starcraft2betainvites.blogspot.com/ (http://starcraft2betainvites.blogspot.com/)

If its real, there's a good chance it'll pop up here or some other trusted site.

Well, I only discovered this site (darkblizz) a few days ago while searching for progress on the crack. But it seems trustworthy enough and the wiki is very interesting. :)

If the lazytown crack doesn't work, I'll at least have discovered some great new music. :)

Haha ironically enough, so did I. You can generally tell by the posts and lack of "do this to see the download link"'s lol

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=GMR9IP8A (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=GMR9IP8A)

is that crack link of version 2.1 of some battlenet crack however it seems like it was a old crack.

If you try runnning it blizzard update will run.

I tried disabling my net and it opens and when it goes to the blizzard talk it crashes.

so it might had been a real crack not too sure.

firebug is good to remove those popups.

This is totally fake.

Here is my experience:

When I first installed it, it appeared to be a key generator. (you were to put the key generated by the program at the blizzard website. Upon entering the correct key an email would be sent to you that would activate your blizzard account with SC2 beta access, so that you could just log in to the beta and have access to everything)

It didn't seem harmful at first but then it began starting up with windows. After repeatedly trying to uninstall it, erase all traces of it and/or remove it from startup (and having it just keep popping up), I decided to uninstall SC2 Beta from my computer figuring it was hiding in there somewhere. As soon as I uninstalled SC2 beta the "key generator" showed its ugly side, popping up fake system warnings about scanning my computer etc, locked me out from administrator, shut down my anti-virus and wouldn't let me start it again etc etc. Pretty nasty stuff. Thank god for virtual machine huh?

I would erase your post or re-phrase it, pointing people away from that "crack" not toward it.
100% fake.

100% fake.
Done. I just added a big warning.

Sorry dodongbadong. I hope you didn't find it through my post.
It's probably safest to reinstall Windows if possible.
