The present version of Starcrack (6.1.1) Zerg is somewhat limited.  Zerg only have one opening build, and as was said above they don't build enough units.

Even if you roll the air-power mid-game build, it shifts back to ground during the Late stage and never develops Brood Lords no matter what.  2 of the late builds are just Zergling/Hydra/Roaches, and the 3rd one adds Ultras.  Pretty basic.

I'm developing an AI for Zerg that I'm calling Overmind that I hope will make this a very fun race to play against.  I <3 Zerg and I want to see the AI making good use of them.  It's going to be a while though as I'm dropping the "randomly selected build order" approach in favor of making an AI that is truly making decisions, and it's going to be a lot of work.

good luck on that bro... their just havent been much ai releases lately..

Try a FE, then mass warp gates. If he makes void rays you make stalkers, if he makes collossi you make DT! YES DT! 2 DT destroy a collossi in 2secs it's INSANE! and a small group of them can take a nexus down in no time. I'm not a protoss player, but this has worked for me.

It worked pefectly. I massed dark templars and a few stalkers near the protoss cannons. I destroyed the 6.1 cheating ai. I have only tried this facing zerg 6.1 cheating ai.

Many gamers agree that blizzard made zerg race the weakest out of the three. All they have are roaches and ultralisks that are good. Ultralisks is late game. The player will be killed with only using zergs and bannelings in the beggining.

AI Discussion / Strategy to beat 6.1 cheating Ai

I can beat 6.1 non cheating version very easily, but when I play 6.1 cheating version the ai always has void rays to kill me while I have a whole bunch of zealots. I cant build as fast as the ai. I am only good with protoss.

The ai seems to not attack very frequently for me. The ai had no idea how to destroy my 8 protoss cannon. I then mass void rays and collosus, that destroyed them. I managed to get gather minerals from four sites, while the ai only had two site. Overall 6.1 is still very simple. I will try the cheating version soon.
