I guess you could say that this patch raised the "standard of living" in a sense.
People that ran the game on ultra or extreme (the rich) didnt notice any difference but people on the lower to mid end of things (the poor/middle class) got screwed.

I ran the game on High shaders & lighting before the patch but now with the new patch I don't see any of the cool "glowing" effects so I have to crank it up to Ultra. Well my computer lags badly on Ultra so I have the same problem as many of you. The game looks like crap now needless to say. GG blizz.

Hey,
I opened up the .galaxy files with an MPQ editor and I am wondering:

What language is that in the .galaxy files? It looks like C alot but its not quite C.
Which file contains the "main" function for the program? (for Base.SC2Data)

Also, I've downloaded and viewed the AI Developer maps (where you can watch a replay of the AI's going at it) and noticed that the loading screen backgrounds are beautiful. I've searched the file but can't seem to find where the picture is. I only found the snapshot of the map as a .tga

Thanks!

First, I have to say that your AI is much better than anything else I've tried thus far.
Very impressing stuff. Keep it up!

I played against it a couple of times but mostly I have been pitting it against the AI5.5 and watching them duke it out, and let me tell you your AI is much better.
It builds better, spends minerals better, upgrades, mixes up units (zealots, stallkers, immortals, dts), builds defenses at expansions. All-in-all pretty neat stuff.

HOWEVER -- it refuses to take incentive and attack. It will have an overwhelming force, drive it all the way to the opponent's expansion, kill 1 SCV and then turn around and go back to its base. (while the CC remains unprotected because terran forces are long dead)

Although AI5.5 is not even close to being able to build/upgrade/expand as good as your AI, AI5.5 is FAR more aggressive. It tries to attack many times even though its forces are at best 1/3 the size of your AI. Your AI can end the game at any given moment yet it just hangs out for 15-20 mins doing pretty much nothing unless its attacked.

I haven't seen a ZERG (AI5.5) vs your TOSS AI. I think that would be very intresting since I find the zerg version of the AI5.5 to be the best one of the three. (Z T P)

Quick question:

Do I have to install SC2 beta in the default path? (C:\Program Files\StarCraft II Beta) or can I just install it where I want. I know that I have to instal your Launcher at the default location.

I have the same problem but only when trying to load a replay.
When I try to play vs the AI it works fine.

I have a single core amd 2600, with HD4650 radeon (AGP) .
I know , its old school but it gets the job done (most of the time).
I run WIndows XP and that could also be a problem.
My dual core Windows 7 laptop loads replays just fine.

I have found a problem.
I just grabbed the UPDATED cache folder from that torrent and performed a test.

I followed the normal instructions:

Reinstall the game,
Let it update to patch 2,
Placed SWF folder in \StarCraft II Beta\Battle.net ,
Updated the new Cache in C:\Documents and Settings\USER_NAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Blizzard Entertainment\Battle.net with the new UPDATED cache folder from the .rar,
Grabbed some new replays and placed them in C:\Documents and Settings\USER_NAME\My Documents\StarCraft II Beta\Replays

When I try to start a replay the loading screen appears for a few seconds then it kicks me to windows. That is under WINDOWS XP.

When I try this on my WINDOWS 7 machine, it works fine. I can see the latest replays etc, no sweat.

Observations:
The two operating systems have different folder structures when it comes to "My Documents" folders etc.

The only discrepancy that I found when following the tutorial is in the last step:
It asks me to go to C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME_HERE\Documents\StarCraft II Beta. In WINDOWS XP this is C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR_USERNAME\My Documents\StarCraft II Beta.
When there, the tutorial states that I should see the following: "two folders called GameLogs, Maps, and a text file called Variables". I don't see the Maps folder described here in WINDOWS XP.

Bottom line is that this works for my WINDOWS 7 machine but not my WINDOWS XP machine. Both can play the game vs AI fine. WINDOWS XP machine could never play replays. Even during the first release of the beta.

Could just be my machine -- figured I'd put my two cents in

This is totally fake.

Here is my experience:

When I first installed it, it appeared to be a key generator. (you were to put the key generated by the program at the blizzard website. Upon entering the correct key an email would be sent to you that would activate your blizzard account with SC2 beta access, so that you could just log in to the beta and have access to everything)

It didn't seem harmful at first but then it began starting up with windows. After repeatedly trying to uninstall it, erase all traces of it and/or remove it from startup (and having it just keep popping up), I decided to uninstall SC2 Beta from my computer figuring it was hiding in there somewhere. As soon as I uninstalled SC2 beta the "key generator" showed its ugly side, popping up fake system warnings about scanning my computer etc, locked me out from administrator, shut down my anti-virus and wouldn't let me start it again etc etc. Pretty nasty stuff. Thank god for virtual machine huh?

I would erase your post or re-phrase it, pointing people away from that "crack" not toward it.
100% fake.
