I believe the majority of us (including myself) only say ETA just to anger you type of people. It is funny to watch you get so angry because some random person asked ETA. We may be "trolling" for that but you are only feeding us :)

BTW... ETA?

ETA: Whenever.

Seriously, get a grip, chill, its okay, if it never comes out, its still okay, I'm just saying, please stop spamming asking for ETAs to something that takes time to make.
ETA for v6.0?

It isn't that we can't wait and must have it now. We are just excited. I wish I could have it right now but I would like it to be perfect before it is released as well. I'm sure everyone else saying things along the lines of "release is now!" also want the same. We would all rather wait a day for it to be amazing then get it now at just a step below amazing. We are just excited. I have wanted SC2 for longer then I can remember. I'm just so happy I finally have it. Again, just excitement is all.

Nice work! This is a lot of effort, sounds so cool.

I recently wrote my own terran AI with my limited resource and time, it took me so much time even I am just editing the build order. Rewriting the micro plus 27 build orders is a really big task, can't wait to see this happen. It must be a great improvement, and give us those key-less beta testers a lot of fun before we get our bnet access.

Heh, I don't know about you, but even if I get a beta key, I'll still be playing against this AI every now and then when I want a break from multiplayer. :)
No offense, but that is wrong. Taking a break from playing real people to play an AI? Hey man whatever works for you but as soon as I can play online I'm done with the AI.

I am very excited. Can't wait to play against this AI. O and btw, I don't exploit the AI. It is still easy. Don't start calling out people that are good as only being able to beat the AI through exploits. Some of us are just good.

Did you even read what I said? The 'not "on purpose"' bit? The AI cannot deal with certain parts of the game as well as other parts. When it comes to dealing with harassment, expansion denial, and kiting, the AI is plain stupid. It's not a competent player's fault for taking advantage of those things, because by the standard of regular games they're not taking advantage of anything, they're just playing the game the way it's meant to be played.

Tell me, when you play T vs P/Z AI, do you submerge your depots all the time and let the enemy run into your base? Or do you keep a couple of Marines standing nearby to get free shots off as the enemy closes and retreats? Just wondering. :)

I did read the post. You said it MAY be unintentional. Implying others probably are doing the intentional ones such as 8 scvs on a bunker. And since you are "just wondering" I only wall in when I play against the cheating AI. Against the normal 5.5 I don't wall in because that would be exploiting it. With the cheating AI though you have to use that exploit or else you are just going to get over run. Nothing you can really do about that. And I am sorry for making it such a big deal. It just seemed like you were acting like one of those people who think others only have an easy time because they have to exploit and in no way could just be good. See way to many of those people so I just assumed you were another. Sorry about that if you aren't trying to act like that.

So I actually just did a match against a cheating AI right after my last post. Was a TvZ. All I did was wall off and put a couple bunkers at the front of my base. Eventually got 2 marauders and 2 siege tanks to hold off as well. They held off all of the ai rushes until closer to the end of the game. What I did was while that was holding everything off I got one expansion to an island and just built up a reaper strike force. They went around (8 of them in a medivac) and took out a lot of buildings and took some pressure off my front door. Continued doing while massing up battle cruisers from 3 starports. Once I got 6 BCs the ai pushed hard. A lot of loses on both sides. I held them off again and was able to re build a front door D. By the time I had 12 BC I decided to push out. I had my reapers and BCs go through the map and clear out everything. Took some time and some resupplying of the BCs but I eventually won the match. Was a long match though.

Just did a cheating AI match myself. It is pretty pointless to try this. Basically the computer gets to put out twice as many units as you and just over runs you. Not much you can do really. Some stationary D helps but in the end you are going to get run over. Just too many units.

Ya i think I will try the cheating AI. How much stronger would you say it is?

I rather get pwned by 6.0 then have another version that is still rather easy. It will just make me get better. Right now all I really do is macro to practice keeping my resources down. I don't apply pressure because that is an instant win. I don't scout because I don't really need to. It doesn't change my play at all against this AI. I am getting very lazy mainly for the reason that doing the proper things leads to a really fast and easy win. And when not playing against a human it isn't that much fun to win right away. I am hoping 6.0 is really strong. But regardless it looks like a lot of the major bugs are fixed so I am happy enough with that.
#26
So does all those "fixeds" imply 6.0 should be right around the corner? Today perhaps?!
#27
So does it look like v6.0 will be out soon? I am looking forward to it. Loving what we are getting so far but would love an even smarter AI. This is great for my macro practice though.

This seemed like it was pretty good but really I had no troubles with it. The play as Zerg with the comp being Toss and really I had no issues at all. Everyone said the early game was awful so I didn't bother rushing. Just macro'd up. By the time Toss attacked me I had way to many units for it to deal with. Ya it cleared out my lings with the collasi but nothing else really. I had no problems with it and was never really scared. With the 5.5 I at least get rushed early game and have a chance where he could break me as long as I don't exploit the comp (12 scvs repairing a bunker or something like that). So in terms of overall difficulty I have to go with 5.5. This one seems ok and would be the better version if they attacked early game at all. But due to the lack of any kind of early game harassment I have to go with 5.5.

I have been using the 5.5 AI. How do I make it so this one is the difficulty that gets used? I'm not sure I am understanding what to do. And I'm guessing after I put everything in the right folders I still use the lazyloader correct?

Well I just played one quick match and all I have to say is wow. I really wasn't ready for that. Normally the computer will send one wave of 5-6 guys. I would handle that and be good to go from there. This time I was T against a Z computer. I had walled in and had 2 rines and a marauder before the first ling wave came in. I held if off but they did some damage to my buildings. Now I have been getting lazy due to the easier ai and only brought one scv per building for repair. Next thing I know I have another rush of lings coming. Really wasn't expecting that. Computer never rushed more than once before. Before I cleared out that wave I had another wave of lings and roaches coming at me. Due to me getting lazy from the other ai and this ai actually doing something I got over run. I lost. My first loss to an ai so far here in SC2. Really impressed with this. Keep up the great work.
