From the battle.net sc2 forums, i bring you the worst quote in history........
"I just got a email for another invite-a-friend beta key? I don't know what is going on but...I'm really deciding to give it away."
Not only do they not give people two beta keys, and others none, but now they give three beta keys to people, and none to others. Now, im not sure if this is legit or not, but I am going to make a pretty obvious statement: If this is real, can i please get a key from someone? Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
If it's legit, props to blizzard for having some sense. I know how bad you want to play it online but, they want to test the features of it, point of the beta. Who better to test than friends? They're more likely to stick together and explore everything bnet2 + sc2 have to offer than just another random stranger.
Especially since they have a ton of those already!
Yeah I got invited few days ago and I got a friend invite recently. The key didn't work first but it worked on the following day.
:'( wish i had an starcraft 2 beta key...
I want beta key toooo :'( :'( :'( :'( :-[

Yeah, the friend invites are really depressing... means I probably won't get in at all.
i have a beta key but I am to scared to play so I just login and whack it to the battle.net screen
I think the freind invites are not a very good idea because lots of people just sell their additional key on ebay :/ it would be better if blizzard would activate beta on existing battlenet accounts!

I agree with this gentleman.
We should all go out make some freinds so that we can get keys. lol ;D
haha my buddy hooked me up with a friend invite, and he was invited by my roommate.
So as long as you're active more invites go out. And yeah, most of the testing going on right now is related to RealID, Mic's, all the features related to playing with friends not strangers.
Friend invite would be a good thing if everyone who opt-in had their keys.
That way they could expand to new audience or something.
But as for now, I think Blizzard should give priority to the people who opt-in.
And ya, im still waiting for my key. ::)
Thing is, a good chunk of people who opted in didnt care for SCII. Case and point, co-worker of mine got a beta key, played a game and then went back to Modern Warfare 2.
If you take the time to be active enough to get an Invite-a-Friend, then you'll probably invite someone who will be as active as you = more active beta players.
If I get a friend key I will be posting it on this site in one way or another....that's if i get one....I do not have one yet but If I do I promise it will be given to this forum
what are the chances of getting a starcraft 2 beta key?
1 in like what, 10,000? haha
From who? Me or Blizzard. I am 100% giving my friend invite key(WHEN I GET IT) to someone in this forum. Have not decided how I will do it but I wil
you could give it to me... O:) O:)
or u could give it away by posting that u got another key and and saying the first person to ask for it will get it O:) O:) O:)
lol I could...but I think I will make it fair for whoever is on at the moment of my post. I don't know how I will do this but I will try my best, I have to think it over. I was actually thinking what starscraft-2-fan was thinkin.
meh... i live in china(currently) so if u live it the US, we could share acconts :) O:)
True but, you have to realize not even most of the beta testers are getting Friend Invites. So everyone counting on it should relax a little haha
Yeah if anyone would be so kind as to invite me. I'd be really happy O:)

Imho this would be more useful. I also am still looking forward, hoping to get an Invitation sooner or l8r.
Maybe my System Profile is less interesting for Blizzard, 'cause I have an o'ced I7.
Older Systems must be more interesting for technical Issues, mordern Hardware won't be a Problem.
isnt it all based on complete random? I have a macbook with windows 7 installed on it...
Its not completely random but give nthe number of people in the pool to pick from, it is mostly random. They did/still pick some based off of spec's, make sure its playable on the max amount of builds.
Just look at the number of driver fails and shit people are getting, definitely going into it
:-[ :-[ so how many more invite waves will there be?
Rumored to be toppin out at 10k people and I believe at last count is what at roughly 9k?
Its a rumor but, pretty valid. They officially said no open beta, and they really have all the people they need. They could still send some more out but don't count on another 20,000 people

I believe the 9k stat was before the friend invites. Now that the friend invites are out there should be more people playing and since more people are playing its not likely that they will have another "wave". Although some time ago I also heard they were giving out some beta keys to random people little by little but not as a wave. I don't know if this is true though. =/
This is from things I've heard and understood to be true so if I got some information wrong feel free to correct me but don't be mean plz. ;D
:'( :'( :'( so u think i will never get a key?
dont count on it, your chances are slimmer now than ever
:'( :'( :'( :'( :'( oh well, the ais are getting tougher, strategy ai can acutually beat me sometimes....

life suxx 8) if i dont get a key i will buy it sooner or later - but anyway it would be great to have a beta key for a game we have all been waiting for so many years. So if anybody doesnt know what do do with all those keys, feel free so let me participate
Thats better than giving the key to a person that isnt interested in the game after all lmao
well, i still have no beta key :( so pissed off... i signed up for beta testing so early... :bangshead: :bangshead: :ticked: :ticked:
Playing online is better than playin vs AI but half the fun with starcraft was playing UMS games.
Not enough new to online melee to justify buying into the beta for me, after playing 30 online games I can honestly say its WAY better than vs AI but, its dunno.
Definitely nothing revolutionary, its SC with new graphics essentially.

Exactly, I was Opted-in since it became active, considering I have a good enough PC to run the game on Ultra with no problems etc etc and Still haven't gotten an invite, and people get 3 keys when some get none?
Well It's blizzard's game, hope we get one aswell :)
haha well thats a reason why you shouldnt get a key to be honest, they know you can run it
It'd be better if they could give the invites out to people who would stay active and really enjoy it rather than selling it, but from Blizz's perspective they have no way of being able to sort through the hundreds of thousands of fans.
So they just go with the main idea - most people will invite their friends - and just live with the rest of it.
I wonder if Blizzard know how many keys they've given out but haven't been redeemed. That'd be interesting to see.
