Starcraft II Beta / Re: Emulate Battle.net
April 25, 2010, 09:37:51 AM
why not? you can preorder the game from Gamestop and get a free beta key. it's 5 dollars to preorder, and you don't even have to pick up the game at release.

of course, i'm definately gonna go get mine. already have the special edition 100% paid for. just glad i didn't preorder it a month ago, otherwise i would have had to preorder another one for a beta key :P

it's not an emulator in the video, it's a LAN hack. it has nothing to do with emulating battle.net, it's bypassing the login just like any other launcher, and connects people together into a LAN game.

Site News / Re: New Contest Suggestions
April 17, 2010, 09:28:32 PM
i dunno, i suggest something that EVERYONE can take part in. asking for a graphics contest, or something like that, kind of limits it down. i personally have no graphical skills at all, i'd love to be able to have a chance to win a contest though :P

if you're in the beta, why even post your opinion on a matter that has no meaning to you? honestly, it'd be like me (an american) talking about why England needs to lower taxes. it just doesn't fucking matter to me.

i'm not in the beta, and i don't see ANY reason why they would be faking this. Like it has been said so many times, they haven't been accepting ANYTHING. no ads on their website, no spare beta keys, no donations. NOTHING. why would they do that and actually go through the effort of faking it? can you give me one legitimate reason? no? then stop saying they're fake. you can't prove it either way, the only people who can is Code-gen themselves. it does us no good to sit here and bitch at eachother, either the LAN hack will come out or it won't.

they didn't post anything that they were sharing. they announced when they get their IRC channel open, they'll be working with developers that come into their channel and ask for help. they said that they would create a private channel where they will communicate with developers who need their help with anything they have so far

Honestly Valk, when you get teams up and going for your launcher, there's really no need for any of the others. At least, in my opinion at least.

SC2 Tools / Re: [RELEASE] lazylauncherGUI 1.2
March 12, 2010, 02:14:34 PM
there will be no next version of this launcher. it's been discontinued, the person who wrote the script decided he wasn't up to par with the rest of the teams. quite a shame too, this was my favorite before he left, then i started to use Valk's launcher.

This work will also pave the way for Diablo III & Warcraft 4 being emulated as well.

B.net emulation is only useful until the real game comes out anyway

Playing on an emulated b.net will never be as good as the real thing

Plus all the cheaters on emulated servers makes them crappy

Well most people will just use it to play with the friends anyway.

Edit:

Doesn't anyone else think the title of this thread is a bit misleading?

I didn't know you couldn't play with your friends if you buy the retail version

you'll be able to play with your friends, but you'll have to use the battle.net system to setup a game. no LAN games at all. meaning, with the battle.net 2.0 emulator, we should be able to fool the game into thinking we're connected, and use just a simple LAN network to setup a multiplayer game with our friends.

at least, i'm hoping that's how it'll work.

Turdburglar, i just want to congratulate you on a HUGE success with your AI for SC2. I don't doubt that when Starcraft 2 is actually released, those of us who get used to beating your AI cheating version will be disappointed in the difficulty of the gameplay in the campaign.  8)

Hey their,
0.22 should be released before the next ten hours. Stand ready.
so where is it know?
Delayed to this weekend. Finishing everything.

that kind of sucks, but i'd much rather have a perfect launcher released in a few days, than have to sit here for hours waiting on your next launcher so i can fawn over what's new about it :P

great job btw, Valkirie. You're launcher is by far my faovrite, out of all the ones here.

Hi, A friend of mine is having the active X issue he's running windows 7 ultimate 32-bit on a laptop and we can't get the launcher to run. We've tried everything, tried installing .net framework 3.5, didn't work. Tried installing VB runtime files, still no dice. Tried regsvring a whole whack of dlls (google's advice). It still gives the blasted Active X error. Here is the log:

can someone please help me? a step by step instruction would help =]. i have the sc2 launcher, maps, and beta downloaded. but when i launch, the ai is super easy. i downloaded the v6.1 ai, but i cant seem to make it work. HELPP??? xD

Depending on your launcher, you either have to go into the Program Files and find your Starcraft II Folder, after that take the Starcrack AI you want, and move it over into the Mods file. overwite all files. It should be in the Liberty.SC2 folder

If you're using a launcher that supports multiple AI's, then you probably have to create an AI folder and put the Base.SC2Data file in it.

What exactly does "Use Internet" do?

with it deselected, if you don't have an internet connection the launcher won't try to contact to the server for map ratings, or give you the option to download additional maps.

if you have it selected and no internet connection it'll give you an error.

great GUI man, great launcher. i like it a lot, but as mentioned it's too big for the screen. did i miss the upload for the smaller version? i saw you posting a picture of it, wouldn't mind getting ahold of that version for my laptop :P
