Hey guys, just wanted to ask a question since I'm having some extreme lag whenever I play SC2.
I'm from Asia and apparently the server is situated in the US right? Is there anyway for me to switch to an asian server?  Like Kalimdor for warcraft 3?

LoneWolf

Nope, you can only use US battle.net account on US servers. If you wanted to play on Asia servers you'd need to register your key on Asian battle.net.
You can try to lower your ping with this though: http://www.battleping.com/ .

Epic! Thanks a lot LoneWolf :) It's really frustrating to not be able to micro my units properly so, I hope this works :D

Did battleping worked for you

Are you still facing lag?

Amberdilis

Yep! There is still some lag but it's nothing unmanageable :)

LoneWolf

Hm, interesting. I might have to try it out myself too. We have some huge lag here on EU servers, during afternoon. Which is strange, because in the evenings, when you'd expect most people are playing, everything is smooth.

Amberdilis

Actually, I think the way it works is that you -> battle ping -> battlenet
So, if you're closer to the battlenet server than the battleping server is, it could actually hurt your ping. I could be mistaken though, I'm just extrapolating here :)

I beg to disagree. You can switch between servers try using SC2 Region Switcher http://blizzard-gaming.blogspot.com/2010/05/sc2-region-switcher.html
