Hey question. Why id my color always green even if i choose blue, red, etc?

You have to enable it in the game. A button by the mini map.

I had a lot of difficulty actually finding ALL of the original maps in one archive. So I searched around DarkBlizz and Nibbits to find all original maps, completely unedited. Here ya go!

http://www.mediafire.com/?zxdyqjhyhy1

The other archives posted on the forum are incomplete, or a couple of the maps are actually modified. These are for sure, original maps.

Maps Included in Archive:

Blistering Sands
Desert Oasis
Kulas Ravine
Lost Temple
Metropolis
Scrap Station
Shakuras Plateau
Steppes of War
Twilight Fortress

What is the difference between a AI map and a normal map ?
I mean i have ai in both of them.
What is the real difference?

The difference is that in AI maps
the loadingscreen is there, and the AI is placed in the
map by default.

Normal maps have a bugged loadingscreen and the AI
is placed in the map via the launcher. (I think)

If Im wrong please correct me.

Correct. the AI maps had the AI added before launching the game. Now that launchers have the ability to add AI at launch (and with that, the option for race selection) the need for AI hacked maps is no longer necessary. Also the loading screen isn't necessarily bugged. I believe the loading screens were intended to be added by the actual Starcraft 2 application. Not necessarily written to the map. but the AI hacked maps, do have the loading screen added into them. This is why the default blizz maps don't have them.

Not enough Pylons / Replay's and your results!

I'd like to know who has figured out the best method for viewing replays, even with a launcher.

So far, the easiest method I have found is placing the map files in the download folder located in C:\Documents and Settings\Enox\Local Settings\Application Data\Blizzard Entertainment\Battle.net\Cache\Download

As long as my maps are in this folder as well as launching my maps from the same folder, my replays work like a charm. Anyone found an alternative or had issues with this setup??

Could someone confirm something for me?

SO AI Hacked maps, have the AI edited into the map.

This new method (for race selection) adds the AI before the game starts. Does it do this by editing the map file? How does that effect the maps though? Does it write to the map before hand and then remove whats written afterward?

Just a little input. I've been messing around with the replays in SC2 with your launcher and other launchers just to see the biggest differences. Here's what i've found:

the UNEDITED MAPS must be placed into the DOWNLOAD folder in C:\Documents and Settings\Enox\Local Settings\Application Data\Blizzard Entertainment\Battle.net\Cache\Download

If you don't put the maps in this folder, the launcher won't play their replays! You'll just get the error "Unable to Load Map" This is the ONLY way to play replays, because the Replay system in SC2 requires the map to be in the cache folder. Which means the launcher will need to have the user's map files IN that folder no matter what. I've tried just adding the Map into the cache after starting a game. This won't work!!! You have to start the game from that download folder!!! Hope this helps my friend!

give more details on your OS vga skins monitor herts etc ::)

windows xp professional 32bit
ati 10.1 hotfix driver
1280x1024 32bit 75hz

Same here. And I'm running an Nvidia card. Up to date driver. There must be something about this application that just doesn't like our systems.

hi, thx a lot for this wonderful program! but I got a problem.... I can choose my race (that is the good part) but when I choose the CPU race (Zerg) it always is Terran :S do u know how I can fix it? :S

sorry for my bad english, Im from Peru ^^

You all need to update your SC2 builds

This launcher probably requires a newer build that you don't have. Run SC2 from its actual executable and let it update. I had the same problem. that fixed it, which means its looking for a directory you dont have.

There's a lot of talk about this AI being so easy. I feel like everyone ignores novice players. I'm not a complete n00b, I used to play SC1. I'm just more of a casual player. I don't mass produce units and buildings as fast as the AI does. I feel likes 6.0 Easy..is Hard. 5.5 Was easier yes, I could play against AI and win a lot, But the AI was boring, did the same thing all the time. I dont want to play the older AI. I dont feel like the AI being smarter should always make them harder to play. The nice thing about 6.0 is that its more intelligent, not as weird and twitchy and smarter about expanding. But its fast. much faster than me. Doesn't seem easy at all. Or fun for a casual player. The AI should make mistakes too. Maybe I forget to build units when I was distracted with a battle. The AI should have problems like this too. maybe thats not easy to code. I dont know.

excuse me, I never played any RTS before and I beat any AI easily, you must be doing something VERY wrong

Well if you're so wise, tell me what you starting strategy is for Terran. By the time I have 2 Barracks and a wall built an entrance (blistering sands map) and one bunker and about 10 marines and few marauders I'm getting mauled by much larger army. This is way early on the map. Is it possible theres something wrong with my install of SC2? A script hanging around that doubles their unit production? Seriously I'm open to ideas. It's the same with any race i've played. By the time i have an army up theirs is twice as big. Maybe i'm not managing my resources well? I never let resources build too high without using them up. SHould I skip marines and go right for marauders as soon as I can to stop the rush? Im Stumped. I'm getting destroyed.
