I've tested an issue on multiple computers. Would like to see if anyone else is having the same problem.

In the launcher. Click and Hold the Scroll bar (the actual sliding bar in the scroll bar on the right) and drag your mouse to the left or right (while holding down on the bar) does the Launcher move around the screen for you too?

newbie here. where do i extract SC2ALLin1_setup?
when i click race selection its only random? :(

where do i put files extracted from SC2ALLin1_setup
C:\Program Files\StarCraft II Beta\SC2ALLin1 is what i have

What do you mean where do you put the extracted files? Just run the installer file. Shortcut to application is created on your desktop. Run it. And read the forum as well. Race selection is there for when an exploit is found in the future. Right now you can't. I would read around the forums a bit.

I have SC2 installed, and I let it install the patches, and then when I run this loader it crashes. I am using Windows 7 build 7000 (beta) through parallels on Mac

I get this error:

Starcraft II has encountered an error while initializing your videocard. Please try starting Starcraft II again. If the problem persists, for more information consult our support website at http://starcraft2.com/support.

Doubt this has anything to do with the Launcher. As you can see in the log its states the crash occurred when launching the actual StarCraft game. Also, parallels will probably not work. Parallels doesn't use your true video card/drivers. it's VMWare so its going to run virtual hardware. Probably emulating an Intel Chipset. Limited memory, and i doubt SC2 will launch ever in parallels. I recommend using Bootcamp in Mac OS and installing a full copy of Windows on another partition,

Wow. Just read the update about 6.0

Honestly, I'm really awful at this game and I kind of didn't remember. The old Easy AI that everyone has in their Launchers, is of course, too fraking easy. Even the medium is easy. for some reason 5.5 (no cheating) is just really hard to me. I can't imagine 6.0 being harder. The AI just constantly throws units while simultaneously building and expanding, and I cant keep up lol. I really suck at Starcraft haha.

Keep in mind that players that consider the AIs very easy are most likely using a lot of tricks that exploit the AI's (lack of) intelligence. Not "on purpose" but because these exploits are standard gaming against human opponents. Walls, harassing units, and ranged units in general are all things the AI is ill-equipped to deal with.

But if you're a newbie playing Terran and don't know how to build a proper Terran wall, let alone if you don't even know what a Terran wall is... it's only natural that you're gonna have a LOT more trouble.

Thanks everyone for your advice. I used to play SC1 off and on, and i've been able to play Toss and Terran usually. Never been a Zerg player at all so yeah when its set to random and i get them i really just try to mass Zerglings (upgrades of course)

But you know what I found out? I was playing the 5.5 with Cheating...haha whoops. I was getting constant constant flows of Zerg units coming into my base, like...never ending. Normal 5.5 not so much the same problem haha. I can create a bomb terran defense that can't be penetrated. It's just moving out onto them when i get Zerg swarmed. But yeah, it was all custom 5.5 that was killing me haha.

I had some maps that I added and it worked great. Then I added new maps to replace my old ones, and they did, but I find that both the maps are still in the launcher's map list. How can I remove them. I'm going to try and reinstall, but I don't know if that will work. Thank for any future help.

The application stores the maps in your My Documents\StarCraft II Beta folder

You need to clear that folder out, then re-add through the Launcher.

yeah i did all that and still no luck done 5 times by now, installing the launcher deletes everything in my SC2 directory on c:> program files > starcraft 2 beta

Haven't seen this problem yet, but another guy earlier had the same issue. Whats the destination folder that installer says its going to install to?

Edit: I previously installed 2.5.5 and updated through the launcher to 2.5.6 so I figured maybe i'd try to installed 2.5.6 from the installer instead to see if I'd have the same problem with the erasing of the SC2 Folder in Program Files. I did another install of 2.5.6 and it didn't wipe my SC2 folder. It must not be the installer causing the problem. Unless its something with the version of Windows installed or the already installed beta or a crack thats already installed. I'm running windows xp sp2

did you do what i said to the 1st page find a delete a "vernam7" directory in your Application Data??? please Read the 1st post where it say WARNING!!!

dont panic you can fix it

I had this problem also. Its something to do with the Mods folder in the SC2 Beta Program Files folder...I used the 4.0 and 5.0 AI Starcrack before, so I know there was stuff in the Mods folder but I don't know which folders are stock with the application before Starcrack...

Hey Vernam, awesome launcher. I just had one question.. I thought 5.5 was only one difficulty level? How do you have Easy, Medium and Hard 5.5? If I choose easy 5.5 I dont get the "Terrible Terrible Damage" prompt like I do with Medium 5.5

Are these all really the 5.5 AI?

Actually the "Easy" its the Blizzard Default (the v5.5 its just a comment that will propobly be removed)
the Easy Blizzard Default MUST be always there as an option cause i need it to run the replays! if you have other AI installed rather than Blizzards Default replays CRASH with SYNC ERROR, so thats why i always have the latest original Blizzard File in my tool!

if you take a closer look when double clicking a replay to watch the diffulty changes back to Easy by it self to prevent crashing ;-)

Starcracker Team has a Medium 5.5 that doesnt cheat and the one that cheats a little so this is the Hard!  ;)

i am glad you like the tool.

I am having one problem with it though. For some reason when i first launch it, if I try to use one of the maps it says nothing selected. Randomly I'll choose a map and it works finally and sometimes when i go back and try the map that failed it will work again. It also had a complete list of maps right after install..not sure why this is since the first time i installed before the name change, it only had the 3 or 4 maps included and i had to choose my other Maps folder to add all of them. Its like after uninstalling the older version and installing this new one (and removing the old vernam7 folder from application data) it still remember the maps I had it look for before? Anything im doing wrong here?

EDIT:

Found the fix for me anyway. So just to restate, when I first open the launcher, and choose a map and difficulty, I get error "Nothing is Selected!"

If I click the replays tab, then click back to the maps tab, it will let me choose a map and play.
