AI Development / Re: Evolution of the Overmind
March 23, 2010, 06:09:17 PM
I would like to help with this AI. I can see you're extremely serious about this, and I have been looking for an AI/Map-Making partner. PM me for my email account.

I like a man that shoots for what he wants, and nothing more.

Continue the great work.

SC2 Tools / Re: Best Launcher in your opinion.
March 21, 2010, 03:28:20 PM
Valkiries online function is nice, but his has a few different bugs. His was also difficult to get to work.

Vernam's is excellent, absolutely the easiest to use.

However, if Valkirie can get his bugs worked out, I will use his because of the ladder.  :cheers:

I cannot find how you made the units spawn in threes, can you show me where? (It's probably staring me right in the face, but I am having a brain fart right now, I can usually find these things.)

You can't edit how much is spawned. It's only tripled because it's overlapping the MPQ so there everything is tripled.

Actually you can. Your idea intrigued me, so I started to look through the different XML files. In RaceData, you can see how many buildings are spawned, as well as SCV's, and starting cash. However, when I modded mine, I modded the Terran's only, and then no matter what race you pick in the launcher it forces you to be terran. I tried adding 12 marines to start with, but for some reason it didn't work, my guess is that the spawn offsets have something to do with it.

Will be forthcoming with any new info.

Not on my computer with SC2, but I must rave again on the excellent job you (and ringlas :P) are doing to support this launcher, and how easy to use and bugless it is. Absolutely the best launcher.

However, you will need to implement a ranking system like that of Valkiries in order to stay competitive. If he can get his bugs worked out (BIG if), then his will be more popular. Simple as that.

Thanks again for the work!

Start locations seem to keep going to random.

Indeed they do. LOL, I restart so many times to get the AI and myself next to each other.

No other problems though.

As the ladder is also my school project i need to get it done for tomorrow night. Stay tuned.

As well as the FAQ? Would be nice to know how the scoring works, and what rank the different pics are.

Fixed my own problem, LOL. Don't you love when that happens?

When I unpacked the (I think it was .rar, or .7z) file, I unpacked everything to the desktop, just to keep it temporarily separate. It installed, and I thought everything was the way it was supposed to be. BUT: My SC2Launcher.dll file was still on the desktop. Moved that into my SC2 folder, and works great now.

TAKE NOTE! :D

EDIT: I am also now running v.23, and it works great! Very nice launcher!

.23 is very buggy, also, did something change that prevents us from loading maps for replays (very annoying) ???
.22 was great so I'm switching back until things get fixed.

I'm still running .22 as well. Too bad even that isn't working for me.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Same exact error. Happens whenever I click on a map. Then it won't let me play. Restore is also grayed out. It won't display map info.

Running Windows Vista 32-Bit.

Help?

vernam im trying to update my 3.6.3 to 3.6.6 but it says patch file not found, how come? :(

Just download the .exe, then run it. It will update it just fine.

This is my absolute favorite launcher. I have tried them all, and this one proves to ABSOLUTELY be the least buggy and the easiest to operate. I look forward to the next release, when team support will be added. My favorite part about this launcher is the ease with which it can switch AI.

Keep up the good work. Also, it would be excellent if you could implement a map-download system like the Starcraft Beta Launcher v.22 has.

Again, I appreciate the hard work. :)
