Step-by-step guide
1 ) Go to your Diablo 3 folder
2 ) Copy the Diablo III.exe and make a shortcut
3 ) Right click and choose properties
4 ) In the end of location add the following line (after quotes):
-launch -auroraaddress 127.0.0.1:1345
It should look something like this now:
X:\Program Files (x86)\Diablo III Beta\Diablo III.exe" -launch -auroraaddress 127.0.0.1:1345
(depends on the location of your installation, could be on different hard drive in a different folder)

5 ) If you didn't already download the sources, go to  
6 ) Press "Downloads" and download the sources in a zip-archive
7 ) Extract the files from the zip

Answer by Abaddon - Older versions didn't have almost anything in them, just the character, some npcs and terrain. That's all. This one features like 1/3 of the things the oficial beta actually has. As releases are updated, you will need to lower the graphics to play it (this includes doodads, physics, spells, mobs, map extensions, etc.)

Ive been to the Site with all the files and I dont even know If I have to download every file there or just a few ?

Currently the lag is caused by the emulator, but in future releases the fps will become more stable.

The emulator was just brought to life, and will slowly gain strength and stability.

In one of the older versions the inventory worked.

Also looking over code the most working on thing currently is server emulation. IE possibly a public server

Is there a link of something which explain the basics of how to try to emulate the server? I'm beginner at C# but i'll be glad to read how they do that and then i'll try to help (maybe i'll found something, surely not ^^)

Nice, but it's not complete, you also need the emulator files and SQlite if you don't have it, you also needn't to log in as Drifter000@hotmail.com, you can be a@a and the password can be any, but it's recommended that you use the same every time you log in, so you can save characters after closing, that will remain through releases.

lol the comment about the Inn  reminds me of Hotel California song by the Eagles "You may check out but you may never leave\". Also there seems to be a map missing (I know this is incomplete so I am just saying) located North West of the Hollow. It's a cut-out square at it's entrance.

It might be the current patch, make sure you get the source from mooege!  :)

Nope that's the correct source things are going to stay pretty basic until the final release, when everything will be combined!

I'm having a little trouble with the emu and trying get everything running.

so far i run the Mooext and when i try to make a character in the game it gets to the loading screen and d3 stops responding.

any ideass?

updating the mooege build so the mooext tool doesn't compile something broken that requires everyone to scour the forums to figure out what to copy over (which defeats the purpose of the mooext tool btw) works better

But... if you use MooExt you needn't compile anything.
If you don't use MooExt and you can't compile you should try it, it does all the technical stuff for you.

Oke long time since i download moogie..and i did all like old time procedure and have some issues

In Mooege\Assets\Mpq - there is one big shiny file called "Important" - read it and you'll understand!

I still get the error 3003 after i copy the MPQs  :S

okay i figured it out, to fix the 3003 error take the MPQ's from their folder and drop them all into the MPQ folder in the assests folder in the mooege directory, if they're in their own file it wont find them...

ProTip: If you can't compile then don't use the sources and pass on to mooext.

All files from Diablo III Beta\Data_D3\PC\MPQs are copied to mooege-mooege-447f19f\src\Mooege\bin\Release\Assets\MPQ and i cant login some error on logon screen...

the server is working fine but i cant seem to log in into the game and in the server it says authentication fails because of invalid credentals
