Hey welcome to the site.

You have to understand on battle.net & D2 Realms, to many continuous server requests for lets say the D2 character making packet can result in IP Bans and account closures.  The delay is activated after a response is given to a Character name being attempted. Once that response is received, it will activate whatever delay is set and wait that amount of time.  With a delay of 0, it doesn't wait and will send the account creating packet again > recieve response > send account creating packet again, over and over.

The bot in the beginning will be fast, but after a while it will seem to slow down due to the numerous server requests you are doing by attempting to create accounts at zero delay.
Battle.net servers have certain restrictions and protections so they don't get exploited or lagged to shit causing them to drop; which is why one can't create 1000's of names in one second.  Due to the client (bot) < - > server relationship.

I'll try to tweak somethings in the program and do some other stuff.  But 2secs isnt bad at all :P

Thanks for such a quick response.

That make everything a little clearer for me thanks :D

What I dont understand is with the Redex namebot, which will run for about 10min and then disconnect from realm. It will create a name at the bottom of my namelist. How is this possible if it takes such a long time to search through each name?.

What I like about Rogues bot so far is that it doesnt stop . Any tweaks you could do would be greatly appreciated.

Well I've heard lots of problems of the namebot plugin for Redvex.  So its probably poor coding for that plugin.  Plus I believe it still uses the actual D2 client, which may also further slow things down.  But once again, its that whole Bot Server relationship.. If server doesn't like what you're doing, then you go bye bye, hence the possible disconnections on Redvex for you.

Cool thanks for that info.

Now my chance to ask a couple of nub questions about actually running the bot. Ive got past the winscx errors I was getting.

I have actually only got the bot too work once as far as I know. An indication to me that it is working is that it starts searching through all the names in the gui. This has happened only once.

Everytime I connect I just get this, and then nothing else

Also I presume D2 has to be open to run this, do i need to be logged into the acct?

Sorry for all the nub questions

No D2 is not required to run. This is a clientless bot.
Change your BNLS server to bnls.bnetdev.net

The BNLS server you are correctly connecting to is not responding. (JBLS.org has been down for a long time).
Also in the bot are some font files.  Place those in your font folder (C:\WINDOWS\Fonts) So you get the effect of the fonts when using the bot :P

Cool it looks like I got the server and fonts fixed, thanks  :)

Now I am getting this error

Originally when I installed and ran the bot I got this error

Component "MSWINSCK.OCX" or one of its dependecies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid

So I googled it. and found that I need to replace it. I am running Vista 64bit.

http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/itprovistahardware/thread/fceea083-6395-4f62-9aa4-cf314a4f6b11 (http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/itprovistahardware/thread/fceea083-6395-4f62-9aa4-cf314a4f6b11)

Originally I followed these instructions, and placed the file in my system 32 folder. This didnt work I got this error

So Instead I followed some instructions off another site that said to put it in my sysWOW64 folder. I did this and it ran, but now I still cant get the bot to work  :'(

But insted of richtx32.ocx make it MSWINSCK.OCX

and i'm not quite sure how the x64 systems run with vista, but if i am correct you *MAY* need to find an 64 bit mswinsck.ocx file.

You originally got it to work. So just recheck your config file making sure you have a valid battle.net server to connect to, and a working BNLS server (bnls.bnetdev.net) then hit connect.

Let me know of any other problems and what you were doing prior to it for the problem to occur.

Every install I have done of this on Xp and Vista has first come up with the richtx32.ocx error. Once this is fixed it then comes up with the mswinsck.ocx error  :)

Not having much luck am I :(

Well on your 32bit XP pro, it is working, it just seems to be stopping during the Account Login process. Try using a different Account Name when logging on or wait a bit and use the same one before.  Reasons it might stop during the account login process is too many attempts connecting on the name, etc, causing a momentarily freeze on the account.  So probably you trying to log-in over & over trying to get the bot to work just caused it to stop logging in for a while.  So if you haven't used the bot in a while since last post, you should be fine logging into the account now.

As for the Vista 64bit, I am unsure about at this time.

Well Ive tried a few different OS now and still no go. I just cant get this too work  :'(

The one time I did get it too work was on my Xp Pro VM and was with the old BNLS server added in.

Ive tried different accounts, im certain my cd keys are entered properly etc etc.

Do I need to try another server?

Im just getting the same prob as in the S/s above.

:(

Try these bnls servers found here: http://toshley.net/py/status.php (http://toshley.net/py/status.php)

Also make sure those files, i.e the mswinsck, richtxtbox are in their proper places.  Let me know what happens.
The last thing I could think of that might be a problem is you being IPBanned from the realm. So Try different battle.net servers and see what happens

Yeah, if you get it I wouldn't mind updating it for you.  I also made a namebot called Rogue of Diablo: http://darkblizz.org/Forum/index.php?board=45.0 (http://darkblizz.org/Forum/index.php?board=45.0)

I may be wrong but I believe if you download the VB6 common controls at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=25437D98-51D0-41C1-BB14-64662F5F62FE&displaylang=en (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=25437D98-51D0-41C1-BB14-64662F5F62FE&displaylang=en) it should install the Winsock and Rich Text Editor controls for you.

Yeah the WoW64 would divert the 32bit installer of those common controls to the proper places.
