Personally I prefer the latter. 

It looks good, but I highly recommend not using animated banners as they butcher quality.

Slick. My suggestion is to make it a little less lengthier, and maybe brighten the text up a bit so it's little more legible. I really like this one, good job.

I must say, animation is fuckin' dope. Good job on it. Although I know there are a bunch of creative/simple stuff you can do to it, and you should experiment more.
