There was a mod for wc3 that turned it into SC2, you could try that although not exactly like sc2 it would be cheaper since WC3 has lan capabilities.I forget the name of it tho or if it is even still around anywhere.

Honestly I would like to see them punished for distributing the hacks to friggen everyone, battle.net is no longer enjoyable because of the rampant hacking.
if they kept them private I wouldn't care cause every other game wouldn't have a hacker in it.

the best way to update your starcraft 2 beta is to remove all un-legit files from sc2 directory, run the beta .exe and it auto updates itself, or at least it does for me.
that way you don't expose yourself to nasty virus's

no you cannot play lan, blizzard has stated more than once there will be NO LAN FEATURE for starcraft 2, there reason is to avoid pirates playing multiplayer through hamachi or some like service.
can't blame them really...they worked years on this game and they want to make a large profit.

yeah sounds like you're using valk's launcher, untill he fixes the problem just unclick the use internet option, should work fine after that

does anyone lse have the problem of it not saying starcrack 6.1 prepare for terrible damage at the beginning?it seems like 6.1 gbut just dosent say it anymore?

ok i unclicked the use internet box, got rid of those errors...how ever the play button is no longer clickable, i dont know whats going on it worked fine for me the other day.

EDIT : i feel like a noob, alls i had to do was select a different ai and then change it back to 6.1 and now it lets me click the play button.
also i think i finally got my norton setup right so it will stop deleting my lazylaunch ...hopefully
