SC2 Tools / Re: Problem with replay after Patch 8
April 24, 2010, 01:17:12 PM
Hey everyone, I just updated to patch 10 and bam ! no more replays. All I get is the SC2 cursor on a black screen and it's game over for me. Can anyone advise on a solution ? Thanks !

I can't watch replays using Lazy Launch anymore after the latest update. There is no progress bar anymore, just a cursor in the middle of the (black) screen, and nothing happens...

Does anybody know how this might be solved ?

Thanks!

Well, again protoss is the only race which cant be healed(from any protoss unit i mean). Now they remove battery on this version. Ghost's EMP make us cry like a little girl. This is like instant nuke.High templar is total useless vs this invisible shit ghost unit.I hear that even EMP reveal invisible units.Phoenix is most useless unit at the moment
- no dmg, no life, his ability is so useless on 99% of the time.Colossus can be hit from air and ground - what is this joke.Protoss vs terran will be zealot+ stalker+sentry and thats all.And once again i find idiots who post on forums- "Fix protoss pls, they are too stromg".So annoying.

Well, Battery had to be removed. You can make an early push so much easier in SC2 as a Protoss player the Battery would throw the game off balance easily. Just think about it: several warp-gates, pylon outside enemy base, an army
you can warp in quite fast...put a few Batteries in and you're plain invincible.

True that, with online disabled it works okay. Sorry mate, been out for a week and so much has changed in the meantime, I thought I didn't keep up or something.

As always, wishing you the best with working on the new version and a big thanks for the work so far :) .

^^ Same here. Whenever I choose a map to play I get unhandled exception error and the "Play" button is greyed.

I have Windows 7 x64 w/ .NET Framework 3.5.1 enabled.

Replays work fine with this tool, actual game does not, crashes as mentioned on map selection.

Hope someone can help, thanks !

Great work Goosie, awesome stuff right here !

I only had the chance to try out SCV5.1 last evening before Goosie v4 tonight and was positively impressed by your AI.

I for one was very entertained. Played PvZ (my favorite, killing Zerg makes me shiver in excitement) and was surprised by the nice expansion & tech strategy the AI deploys.

He seemed to rely on zerglings, banelings and roaches for ground units then teching to Mutalisks and Corruptors. Not a super effective strategy imho, I actually won without any air units, but with plenty of Stalkers and High Templars.

Can't give you too much feedback after 1 game, but would like to say this was extremely fun and I am looking fw to future iterations. Keep up the great work !

Hey not sure if this has been discussed but after using your loader, if I then attempt to play any replay with lazylaunch I get Replay Desync error :O.

Then when I try to restore I get a nasty Windows error and I have to restore manually after which Replay Desync goes away.

I like the idea of the tool, but right now good ol' LazyLauncher + Manual AI switching does the job fine.

hey just played it seriously. this time it was a PvP. the AI rushed me twice, with a good number of units. but as you guys, the AI couldnt counter my air units. that is maybe the only problem i've seen so far. anyway, it is a lot better than the v4. thanks for your work guys

Really, the Protoss AI rushed you? Coz I've played a good number of PVPs in v5.0 and he waits forever to build an army of zealots/stalkers/immortals and then attacks.

The AI also doesn't expand, at least in my experience. Oh and one more thing: I went scouting with one zealot, he had about 5-6 zealots ready so I faked an attack after which I ordered the zealot to move to the opposite side of the map and the AI's entire army followed him leaving the base wide open for any sort of attack. You can just walk in and burn it to the ground with a handful of units.

Hope this helps ! Good luck with the development !

Just wondering, can you load replays with this launcher ? Coz I see argument -r as option but then what ?

According to TeknoGods website you must launch lazylaunch2.exe -r myfavorite.SC2Replay and the replay will
find the correct version of SC2b and play.

Is this possible with your tool ?

AI Scripts / Re: Enhanced AI Patch for Protoss (beta)

isnt it that easy?

thats the first cheating AI ive beaten so far.. surprisingly even got it on first try.. i played terran and just went for marines marauders medics.. his first attack almost killed me but bunker and repair solved. after the AI pretty much failed its second attack vs some of the tanks in my base and the mentioned unit combo i made a quick counterattack which won me the game..

so far the zerg AI seems to be the hardest for me, this one the weakest. terran is kinda weird cause it only masses battlecruisers which most of the human players wouldnt do..

Hehe, any computer that does the same thing over and over is an easy win eventually.

Especially if you protect the base bottleneck fast and then counter their failed attacks.

If you want more of a challenge, try a small map with no bottlenecks at base entry. Just my opinion of course.

Cheats like a charm. Had my first roach ready and was attacked by a swarm of zealots.

Held them off for a little, returned in 2 minutes with a ton of Immortals.

Oh man, if only playing Protoss were this easy :)

Just rename lazylaunch2.exe to lazylaunch.exe...but I would feel better if you could maybe upload a new version that triggers the correct file.

Thanks and good job, keep it up, you made us happy.

Yep, will see what i can do.

Edit: Looks like hacked map plus custom AI are responsible.

With a clean install of the beta lazylauncher2.exe works flawlessly.

I didn't give your launcher a test drive since I'm not 100% sure where the problem lies but definitely don't want the "double trouble" again.

Btw, is there any way you can add those TriggerLibs AIs ? They seem pretty crazy for all I've read...

This is great work, I was thining somehow we should collate all that we have (lazylauncher, Starcrack, TriggerLibs AI, maps & all that) in a single interface.

What I'm wondering is...are you using the newer LazyLauncher, v2.0 ? Thanks.
