Yes, of course, if you simply code the source and compile it so you can emulate the act 1 in your pc like diablo 2, then you can play.

Unfortunately, if you don't know the answer to that question you probably lack the skills to get it, then you will have to wait for the emulator update in the dev page like most of us, since diablo 2 was based on MPQ files and Diablo 3 is more like WoW it's harder to emulate. But be patient, wait for updates and help whoever you can, this way we will all be running the lastest updates and enjoying the game even before those who have a beta key!

To sum up, no you can't, but you can help in the development with your C# skills, you can also work in other atmospheres, like java, but they are behind in achievements, and the C# emulators are almost there.

I have the same error as the people above, as I already said before, I create the shortcut, add the command line to the shorcut, run the launcher provided in the pack, (all the files are in the same folder), get this error message
Since my OS is in Spanish for some random reason, I'll post the translation: Windows couldn't find the file 'C:\ Documents'. Make sure that the file's path and name are written correctly and try again. To look for a file, clic Start and then Search.
After that the game logo appears and it runs windowed. I enter a random mail and password and it says:
Error!
Unable to connect to the service
(ERROR_3003)

Now I click OK, trying again pops the same error as before.

I have been writing at the same time I did it, so I didn't miss anything during this time, and thaat's the error some people (including me) are getting.

As far as my brain reaches, I think that error is based on a failed-to-be-written path inside the EXE file, since there is no cfg or ini file I can't edit that with a notepad, can someone tell me how to edit the path where the launcher looks for the files? I will try that and report if it works.

Thank you very much! I'm pretty excited to be honest, I have been messing with the Calculator new feature at Battle.net forums (which you can find here http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/barbarian ) and gone berserk-emotional already .
You choose a class, and then 6 active and 3 passive skills, and eventually upgrade the active skills with runes.

I will check this new launcher provided by the user above right now, however, are there any news about the game-itself emulator? Is there a certain time expected for it to be published and working? Even if they told us "expect it for the following month" that would be awesome info.

Thanks for the additional info, for me it's OK, i had to install both .NET 4.0 and another app related to it when I installed Magicka, then it's not a big deal .

My report about the launcher and so until now, it features offline playing capabilities without having to connect to the updater (you can also connect to the updater, it comes separately).

I don't know what are you talking about, would you please post a step-by-step guide? Since I'm not familiar with compiling, cracking or anything alike, I don't know how to do that, not even what to download, edit or execute. The only thing I actually understand is adding the command line to skip the launcher and redirect to the 1350 (whatever the number is) port.

I have been looking for further info about Diablo 3 Beta around here, but the most I've come to find is a chinese website that is supposed to give links to cracks that allow you to customize banners and characters, even though they won't let you play, but on the other hand, I can't read chinese and furthermore can't download them, because i have no idea of what am I clicking on. The point is, can someone give us a little help on what do we have to clic on to download such cracks? The website I'm talking about is http://game.ali213.net/thread-3681277-1-1.html .

To sum up, if someone can post a little walkthrough step by step on how to download the ali213 cracks it would be very appreciated.

Well, it's just me, you can see the name in the left  , there's not really much to say... Well, I've been lurking around since SC2 beta fix times, and now I decided to make an account here in order to stay tunned for D3, this page looks like it's in the vanguard (no wonder)... and... that's all I guess.

well, since there is a patch that allows you access the character creation screen, i don't see much use to a video, you just open diablo 3 with the fix to override the login screen, and voila! you can browse through the different classes
