General Discussion / Re: Getting closer?
March 16, 2010, 01:22:09 PM
That's no indication if they are getting closer. It just means they are closer to be able to get additional packets for other things (launching games, connecting users, etc)

SC2 Tools / Re: SC2 Strat Javascript

Seems rather neat. The first time I used it, the mineral count seemed way too high. This time around it seemed fine.

Starcraft 2 will not have offline profiles the same way Starcraft 1 did. Therefore achievements and the such will only be saved online with your profile.

The guest account will work offline, and will save progress, but not to an account. It will not sync with any online accounts when you get back online.

A) You need to authenticate the game online ONCE per machine, and possibly once every time a patch is installed.
B) You can only earn achievements to your profile if you sign in and are online.
C) You do NOT need an internet connection to play as guest. This includes skirmishes and Campaign.

Update your video drivers. Install the game. Restart your computer. Reinstall. Try again.

For those who dont like mapHack.. i remember you that actually you are using a loader made by the same people. If you don like it.. why you use lodaers to play the beta? Why dont buy the game or wait until final version?
you cant talk about it.. if you are part of us.

You make absolutely no sense.

We use the loader because we have been waiting 10 years for the sequel to Broodwar. 90% of people who use the loader will buy the retail version (or have it preordered already).

Maphacking is just sad. It takes skill out of the game. Thank god it doesn't work on Ladder so i can still play without worrying about my opponent having to cheat.

Not enough Pylons / Re: 1280x720 not supported?
March 14, 2010, 04:24:17 PM
I used to play games on my older 32" Samsung 720p TV. Games that did not support 1280x720p always worked with 1368x768. Its virtually the same thing and your TV should display it perfectly.

I whole-heartedly apologize to everyone else here that had to sit through my wasted board space talking to him, I feel awful, and if a ban is headed my way, that's fair. Also you guys are free to hate on me, that's cool too. Sorry for wasting board space.

Anyways, anything come of that video? I saw a link somewhere for what I thought was the same file but a limit had been reached on it.

Nothing concrete yet. Hopefully something productive this week.

Raid and Stooz should seriously take their complain/b*tch fest somewhere else. I'm tired of seeing a new post in this thread only to see you 2 in some kind of nerd raging epeen session.

Please keep this thread constructive and open for news or just lock it already.

To anyone and everyone who IS working towards the greater good, keep up the good work and don't ever forget your work is appreciated by the majority.

6.1.1, one of my strategies if i'm zerg is to defend the initial rush with Spine crawlers lings and a queen, then immediately tech to mutas. They definitely aren't afraid of spine crawlers.

Does anyone know one of the emu teams sites?

I didn't know there were multiple teams... the only team I know of is Team Lazytown. Go to teknogods.com and you can check them out there. Although I haven't seen them post any updates regarding the emulator...

There are 2 underground teams I am aware of that are actively working on bnet emus. The most recent burst of progress is from packet dumps and code being shared. Teknogods I believe is the most progressed from what I have read.

You can be rest assured progress on the emu will not be revealed until it is done or damn near it. Many of the teams hold a lot of pride in being the first to crack blizzards latest creation. Rightfully so, it's a big accomplishment and I would want credit for it if it was me.

lol that is just the GUI. Haim has virtually no experience coding or reverse engineering BNET 2.0. I've followed his posts.

Don't get anyones hopes up.

General Discussion / Re: Status of LAN Crack

Why it is so hard to programm a Lan Client? We allready know the "funkctions/methods" of this game. I mean somethin like move(x,y) or buildLair() . So i think it must be possible to replace the AI with a PC Client. I thought about somethink like this, Client 1 send his Comments to Client 2 into the AI File. And Client2 send his comments to the AI File of Client 1.

I don't think anyone could possibly have a WORSE understanding of LAN concept. Nobody should be expecting LAN to surface anytime soon, if ever. The amazing coders that have done Singleplayer and ai cracks are better spending their time working on emulation of bnet, because it can serve virtually everyone.

General Discussion / Re: SC2 Matrix Defence

UMS maps are a significant portion of the online community. Face it, not everyone is good at RTS games, enough to compete on a high enough level to make it fun.

PVP is a massive part of the semi pro community, and of course the esports and pro community. This is what I enjoy online the most. UMS is not my thing.

People need to respect the Single player. The campaigns from SC and BW were epic. I've played those over and over, about once a year for the past 10 years. The story line grabbed me, even enough to make me read BOOKS based on the game. I FREAKIN HATE BOOKS. The missions in SC2 are going to be epic. 29ish missions per race. Units not usable in multiplayer.... yes please.

I just finished a 4 player Lost Temple. 2 terran 1 toss and me zerg.

1 Terran built 5 starports and vikings.
1 Terran just expanded like crazy putting supply depots and turrets everywhere.
1 of the Terrans killed the Toss pretty quick.

They did come at me with a decent force. I had my ramp blocked with ranged units and they just ran away.

Game only lasted long enough for 3 of my drones to deplete 2500gas. Not sure how long that takes.
