Link to wiki still missing. (and from wiki to forum too actually)

Just tried to make a planetary fortress rush against protoss cheating AI. It already had too many zealots when I arrived. :(
  Seems almost impossible to do.

Link to the wiki is gone. :(
And yes, portal with news and recent posts + mouseover preview were practical.

If I had more time, I think I might start learning how to crack software, analyze packets and emulate servers just because of starcraft 2. :)

Even tough I didn't understand most of the video, it's interesting what the tools look like before they are released. Actually I would have expected a lot more command-line stuff instead of GUIs.

You should know, this was made before AI was even here. You shouldn't expect too much from it, considering it hasn't been and likely wont be updated. I honestly suggest it's taken down from its stickied position. There are much greater things than this that can hold its spot.

And I'll add that you should try loading it with AIs like a normal map. It worked for me back then and makes it a lot more interesting.
Will have to retry it with the new team settings now. :)

SC2 Tools / Re: Earlier version of lazylaunch

.NET 2.0 is not supported on Vista operating system.

So I assume to fix all my problems i just need to go out and buy Windows 7...

No, I don't think that will make it work.
Lazylaunch worked perfectly for me in Windows XP. I think it's more likely that the problems are caused by the new security features in Vista. maybe you have to give it more permissions or something like that. My experience with Vista is pretty limited.

As for the .NET framework, it's only necessary for some of the utilities like the one you tried (Valkirie's GUI).
Lazylaunch should work without it. Maybe you should try running it from command line to see if you get any error messages. (windows->run->"cmd.exe" to get a "DOS terminal")

Anyway, I attached an older version of Lazylaunch to this post.

(And here's the official source because you should be careful where you get executables from: http://teknogods.com/?p=422 ;) )

Yes, but it seems those units get assigned to the player 2 AI, and victory is thus still triggered by destroying his buildings.
At least that's how it was for me.
I haven't managed to play it another way until now.
Are they supposed to wait in the center just to be destroyed?

Not enough Pylons / Re: Protoss MASS Carrier

Yes, ghosts still have EMP, but no more lockdown.
EMP drains all energy and removes 100 from shield.

Instead of lockdown, they have snipe now: 45 damage for 25 energy (meaning with 200 of energy, one ghost can deal 360 damage!)

But I think you can set rally points on units. Will have to check next time I play.
Confirmed. You can set rally points on units. :)

Here's the way it used to be done:
Boxers Lockdown vs Nal_rA
And against mass battlecruisers:
Boxer's Lockdown & Multi-Rax Float

v6 is a lot better than earlier versions. This is the first time I had real difficulties beating it. I kept getting rushed.

So I decided to play as terran and go directly to an island on lost temple and make nukes to destroy all AIs (4 player FFA).
It didn't work out as nicely as expected and I made a lot of mistakes (lots of failed nukes), but after one protoss AI destroyed all others, I managed to finish it off very slowly thanks to it being too stupid to attack islands.

Instead of continuing to expand (I only controlled 2 islands and had to send SCVs by dropship once to get gas and cristal) and making mass carriers for example, it kept sending in observers and phoenixes one at a time against a wall of turrets, while its ground army patiently waited in some spots, not avoiding any nukes.
It only managed to take one of my islands due to insufficient turret walling.
Also didn't destroy all structures it saw and left me 3 missile silos there.

I played against the cheating v6 by the way.

So it's better, but still stupid sometimes.

Mmh, why is everyone saying there is no AI?
The first time I played it, I started it with me vs 3 AIs and player 2 destroyed everybody with the massive mixed army.
I used this launcher with starcrack AI v5.5: http://darkblizz.org/Forum2/sc2-tools/starcraft-ii-launcher/

The easy way to beat it is to destroy all player 2 buildings of which there aren't many.

This is possible and is called observer mode.
I recommend placing bets on protoss AIs. They seem to currently work a lot better.
Need to check AI v6 to see if it has changed. xD

It's the same as in Warcraft 3.
insert/delete to rotate left/right

I don't understand why they don't allow rotating fully around the scene.
A completely free camera placement would be really nice.
Of course it's not practical most of the time, but once you are finishing destroying an enemy or vice-versa, it's fun to watch the battle up close.

The 3D aspect removes the possibility to hide things under flying buildings/units like in Starcraft 1, but that was unavoidable.
(unless they add a "camouflage" ability. ^^)
