Quote from: SCFan68 on March 11, 2010, 11:59:35 AMI just wanted to get the original, full 14 maps out there for those who wanted them.

14? There are 14 maps? I thought there were only like, 6 or so.

People, the problem is somewhere in your machinery. Or as it is more likely to say: the device "behind" the keyboard ;)
I personally suggest these steps:
1. Remove SC 2 Beta.
2. Delete any leftovers of files from the game or previous cracks, AIs, everything!
3. Install the game to a different folder (which is not in the last one).
4. Install launcher. Enjoy.
5. Most of the errors that could occur are described by Vernam in his post or in the launcher itself. Just read carefully and think twice.

If there is a problem within your OS you should solve it manually and individually.
Again, good job, Vernam! Finally time for me to enjoy gaming, I hope this time will come soon for you too. :)

Or in some peoples cases, here's a better list of steps:
1. Remove SC 2 Beta.
2. Delete any leftovers of files from the game or previous cracks, AIs, everything!
3. GG.

All heil lord Vernam7, with that karma you will reincarnate as a god. The tool works great stayed up till 5 AM to test it, replay's work great and all my units were orange.

For people with replay problems put all the original maps in
C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\Blizzard Entertainment\Battle.net\Cache\Download
I did and it works for me, i red it in a post a few pages back because thats what you're supposed to do when you have a problem! Search for it, and check other posts! Don't come crying to Vernam7 the second something doesn't work.

tnx dude. what do you mean orange? the ingame minimap color button was pressed maybe?
my tools works with replays YOU played for sure because it automatically copies the correct map file in the cache download folder!  ;)
and as i said replays are not my problem to solve now anymore.
tnx again. you got your self +1 karma, mine its low yet  :D

I think he means his player color is orange, as it should be. ^.^

I tried installing dotnet, and... it just wouldn't install. I'll go fiddling around with it more and review your instructions.

I can't find the folder myself. I'm in Appdata>Local and there's definitely no Vernam7. I even did a windows search. :\

I cannot get the launcher to start at all. It instantly crashes when I attempt to run the tool. I followed your directions, installed in the default directory, disabled UAC and ran the tool as administrator. The Verman7 folder doesn't exist in the AppData folder. I attempted all of this on a fresh and updated install. Running Windows 7 Ultimate x64.

Same problem, tried reinstall a few times, Verman7 folder doesn't exist. Also tried reinstalling SC2...

I won't reinstall some framework as well just to get launcher to work sorry when other launchers I don't have to do anything except extract and double click, plus they got teams working

Good luck with this and I hope you work out the bugs

friend since when not having the minimum system requiremtns is a bug? :-\
i guess you dont know what .NET is so let me be very breaf on that.
.Net framework is in some sort a huge labrary that has everything you see in your OS at this momment! all programms coded for .NET (so windows OS) need to have this framework in its LATEST stable build!

by having .net installed its not gona "heart" you PC on the contrary you will be compatible with any application out there, that take advantage of all windows features.

all windows version since XP sp0 has some part of the .NET inside it since version 1.1 untill now and 3.5 sp1. because windows is written on .NET it self!

but for full support and compatibility this great library must be always installed and mainteained from time to time!
you have NOTHING to loose!
downloaded it from here if you change you mind: http://download.microsoft.com/download/2/0/e/20e90413-712f-438c-988e-fdaa79a8ac3d/dotnetfx35.exe

also it seems that you didnt delete all the vernam7 folders thats why it crashes for sure,
maybe searching in the wrong directory my friend? Delete at first all folders and then run it, on succesfull lauche it will be a new Correct folder in the appdata, LEAVE THAN ALONE.
you should only delete the old ones.
also maybe when you installed the 3.6.1 the TOOL's installation path was not empty?
and there is something left behind that cause a conflict?

if the application HAD a bug it would be for EVERYONE, bugs do not select individual users!

gl what ever you decide. the tool works when system requirements are ok!

I'd like to take your side on this one Vernam, but... I can't start it either. Strangely, the first time I ran it, it worked fine (seemingly). Then I tried to start a game, it crashed, and wouldn't start regardless of how often I would re-install it. I've tried switchin install locations, running as admin, removing other launchers from the SC2 directory, and so on. I'm currently gonna take 2 hours to download that dotnet thing (my internet is really slow), and I'll tell you how that works out. But I can't tell you for 100% certain that it is not for a fact a bug.

Great job as usual. With new knowledge that Teams are working for Starcrack, do you plan on implementing it? I saw nothing wrong with the AI, in fact, it seemed a bit smarter than I expected. They attacked at close times, both attacking 1 player per wave. I think the teams are very nice so far. Of course, this is all up to you to decide.

You sir sound like an asshat. From what I can tell this launcher won't be any better than and probably worse in functionality than most of the others.  I'm also a UI and web designer and for all of  your self flattery the UI design of this launcher sucks a huge knob. It takes a lot to make me want to register for sites like this so I can lay the smack down on terds like you, but your terrible english and lame remarks have made this quite pleasurable.

You have been weighed.  You have been measured. And you have been found wanting.

That is all.

I'd almost be offended by that if..
1. I cared
2. Anyone noticeable agreed.

Keep up the good work Vernam. :D

EDIT: Oh, Vernam. I can for a fact confirm that the Starcrack version of teams works well. So feel free to ask them about it. I find the 2v2 to be more challenging than the 1v1 even. :)

Teams is working 100% fine in Starcrack for a few days now

I'll check on this myself. I don't know if I can trust someone who has -27 karma though. ;)

And theres (only) 1 thing im missing - teams. It may be fun to play 2v2/3v3 and stuff. Try implement it in next release  ;)
:-[ :-[ :-[
Okay, I think we just should ignore them. Don't feed the troll.

Someone was asking about this already? o.O Than im sorry, just was too lazy to read all 62 pages =P

Still, could anyone help me with the "Unable to open map" problem? It happens to me with any "replay loader"...

Maybe they should add a BIG arrow pointing to the search box at the top right of the page, cuz apparently NOONE can find it.

All he did was put the Start button border around the player frames. ;) I'm personally not into them, I think they'd look nicer with a brighter blue border. Just an opinion though.

OVH are having bad issues with their servers. As you can see we have a 500 internal error on the web server, I can't do anything about it, just wait for ovh to repair servers.

Anyway, still working on star location and gui improvements and bugs fixing. Be patient 0.22 should be a kick ass release.

With how it's been progressing, I don't doubt you. :D

Is there any breakthrough on an LAN gameplay system yet?

I've said it to many, and I'll say it again. Use the search function.
