Okay, now this is something I didn't know and surprised me quite! I have some questions:

It says 'billing after shipping' which means that you pay $60 when your original copy of the whole game arrives at your home or after you receive the beta key?

What are the methods of paying?

Do they actually bring it (the actual game) to your front door or you must go and take it out from your local bond (like they do in Amazon)?

I don't know but it seems fair price for a pre-order plus a beta key, you enjoy the play from the very beginning! Thanks to whoever gives me info!

When Starcraft was first shipped it was shipped with M rating, later it was changed to T

Ah, yes. Sry ^^ Pretty nice contest!!!

Are you sure the rating is not T?

And you must first write the cheat to enable mission skipping...

Site News / Re: New Contest Suggestions
April 19, 2010, 02:59:38 PM
I have these suggestions in mind:

1. SC 2 T-shirt contest! Design a t-shirt, post a thumbnail picture and the prizes could be: winner gets beta key plus to make his design as a real t-shirt and send it to him via post office. Something like 1st place key + shirt, 2nd place his idea for shirt, 3rd place his idea for shirt. I know this costs additional cash but I just throw it as an option. (If money is a problem, we could send the cost of the shirt via PayPal. However, this is only optional)

2. SC Broodwar 1x1 tournament. Winner/loser brackets, semi-finals, finals... Clear winner! (Plus 2nd and 3rd place) Games could be played on Garena platform (which if someone is not familiar with it, simulates LAN connection).

3. An essay, e.g. "My ordinary day of kicking hydralisk assess", "Why the existence of my Overmind is threatened if I don't get a key", etc...

4. Deisgn a new SC2 unit! Draw it, post it, add his stats, upgrades. Make it balance to the gameplay as it is.

And so on and so for. These are my ideas, if anyone feels grabbed with one of them, please do share!  8)

Organized_Chaos  <<<<<<  The biggest!

That was a comment I totally agree with. The best by far.

To all those who say "care", etc... What are you doing in this forum then? What are you even writing in a thread called progress of emus? You are here for the very same reason as all of us. (If, of course, you are not a troll with which I believe you don't want to be entitled). Particularly epsiSlow who wants to play "smart staff" or what? If you want to keep your eyes shut and you don't care about progress of a potential emulator don't get here and tell me "don't waste your time with self disbelieves". It sounds stupid as you read it? Don't spend your time telling us bullshit? Is that equal enough? "They wanted to show progress not proof", you say. Progress in what? In how to make videos based on SC2? Clearly in my eyes a team of developers who actually work on something big could release a video which SHOWS CURRENT STAGE OF PROGRESS and when you see it, you say to yourself "ah, good, awesome job you guys are doing, too bad its going slow but I really think you are into something, etc..." Not to mention this is a forum full of PROGRAMMERS, even tiny little bit of info could be enough to make us happy. And this is not the case. I see a SC2 video. Not a progress of an emu. In my eyes they cry for attention, they are a bunch of retards who thought that could make something, got an idea or two and then forgot themselves and claimed lies.

I hope to be proven wrong. I still won't use their emu, but I desire to be proven wrong and they turn out to be a bunch of unprofessional guys who don't know how to promote their project, however, ending up with a released project.

@Rain - I don't want to start a flame war or something with you. It seems that you agree with me and yet you want to prove me wrong in some way. Some of the points this guy said are good. Some of them are very bad. However, moreover his post clearly states, this video ain't nothing but rubbish. It could have been made better in a thousands of ways. This either says absolute lack of professionalism, or absolute fake. Either way it doesn't worth. (For the part showing the world, etc, I agree! Hah, you sound like an old friend of mine, like you've used the same words  ;D )

Post written, cup of coffee drank, satisfied with the time lost, going back to work.

@ Rain[sun]

You are on the very same level of 'childishness' as him, maybe even lower. Mocking him in such a way is not as far as you think from pure stupidity. Why do you bother replaying to such statement when you even consider it pointless? Finishing with "Nuff said", well... you should consider not saying anything else at all! Good job figuring it out!

The point is the video doesn't state anything. It can easily be done from any of us, it doesn't contain any proof of being real and isn't that its purpose?

Look at the other team. Open source, clear development steps, easy to see progress.

Look at this team. "Bla-bla" nonsense, video that doesn't show or proof anything, just a regular video with no purpose but to raise questions. What to ask yourself when you see this? If they want all this secrecy and mystery, fine. I don't mind them but I don't support them. If they want to be clear and actually show us SOMETHING worth it waiting, I am with then.

Before that, I am full of doubts and skepticism.

But, Rain[sun], your reaction is childish.

General Discussion / Re: Need help on improving APM
April 10, 2010, 11:35:53 AM
APM is not initially bend with the player's performance and skill but it is stated that bellow 110 APM you are far away from the semi-pro stage.

Improving APM does not require you to just begin clicking more, it comes naturally with time and practice.

In the SC universe controlling armies of great variety is actually a pretty good ground for having high amounts of clicking. You need to learn to divide your different units into groups, for example, melee units are ctrl 1, range units are ctrl 2, units with special abilities are ctrl 3, etc... Of course, buildings can also be assigned to hot-keys which is recommended for the ones you use most to spawn units. All the rest lays down to micro. You must first learn to divide your types of units and use them properly without forgetting some and with practice comes wisdom.

APM is just a number, it doesn't show your skill, it shows just how much you spam with your mouse and keyboard along with the real important clicks. However, it's better to spam in the beginning more than it requires so you can concentrate and get your fingers to work fast. You need fast reactions.

However, my advice is simple - 'think'. Watch your own replays, find your mistakes, question yourself 'why did I do this', 'what did I do wrong and lose'. Evolve your game, try to improve, never stick up with one thing doing it over and over again.

Good luck!

Vernam,

I logged in, read the news around your launcher and what can I say...

That's great!

It's soooo awesome that you've combined efforts and forces I am absolutely impatient to see what will come up next!

Thumbs up for the new team and wish you luck!

General / Need advice, please!
April 06, 2010, 03:52:43 PM
I want to ask for some advice and recommendations, I am in need of a site with flash tutorials on how to make good banners! I have my pictures drawn but my skills in flash are miserable and I need some tutorials so I could make descent animations! I would be deeply thankful to anyone who could provide me with such!
Thanks in advance!

SC2 Tools / Re: Best Launcher in your opinion.

Actually I use sc2 launcher because its so nice to add AIs (just triggerlibs no .sc2data).

I used the Allin1 before too, really easy to begin with, but it bothered me that you cant just use the triggerlibs since im to stupid to handle the mpq editor :S

big + there would be the ability to play replays...

Trigger libs are more advanced feature for playing different AI's and with ALLin1 we are talking about easiness. The AI's that have good support from their creators also have base.sc2data file so you could easily switch it whenever you wish and then return the default back. Huge plus!

About the replays... I think Vernam's launcher has it all :)

The end of the contest is near and I wanted to say a few things before that.

First, thank you for all the support, special thanks to all who said pretty nice words about my header (which made me feel quite good), to all who liked it and to whoever gave me his or hers opinion.

Second, this competition rocks!  ;D I saw very good entries, very tough competitors, extremely great ideas for the looks of the site and I didn't suspected that there are so many talented people amongst hardcore SC2 (and other blizz games) gamers, part of this community. It was a great pleasure for me to see such results and it made me closer to the site and I've begun to think of me as part of it, as my everyday routine to check 'Show unread posts since last visit', to post wherever I think my opinion matters.

Finally, I want to wish good luck to all the others! I have some remains of hope about winning this key, but in the end I'd like to have made any kind of contribution to something that kept my mind jingling and will be keeping it for a long time ahead of me and I think this matters!  8)

I enjoyed several games today with the new launcher, also watching few replays and I was (as always) very pleased with the great job done! However, the thing that truly made my day was when I downloaded Strategy AI v 0.3 Base.SC2Data file and picked it up from the launcher with the option to change the AI and it worked as a charm! It really did loaded it without problems and afterwards getting back at Starcrack's AI was piece a cake.
So once again my admiration to this launcher, as a lazy user I want something simple, something within a few clicks with the mouse, something looking good and here it is - ALLin1 tool!
I can't wait to see what will you come up with next.  8)

Great! Can't wait! Vernam, did see pm I've sent you about replays?
