SC2 Resolution Force for laptops help... ideas???

(hello, im running the beta on an asus laptop .
sc2 is giving me its default 1024 resolution, but i would like to run it on my laptops native resolution (1366x786). Laptop has the nvidia gt130m (runs all latest games, such as bioshock2 with native resolution + medium/high settings with good frames).


any solutions or ideas for a fix to this?

in your  documents/starcraft II beta there should be a variables.txt

inside there is height=1080 and width=1920 (for my resolution 1920x1080)
Try changing those numbers to what you want and see if it works.

in your  documents/starcraft II beta there should be a variables.txt

inside there is height=1080 and width=1920 (for my resolution 1920x1080)
Try changing those numbers to what you want and see if it works.

I tried this.. I change my reso to 1024x600 (my native reso is 1280x800)

but instead, the changes in resolution doesn't fit right.. I still see black bar in my left and right part..

If you see a bar (when you force a resolution change) then there is really nothing you can do about it. That means your resolution is not a conventional format supported by SC2 (which supports 4:3, 16:10, and 16:9). When that happens, SC2's response is just to put black bars in the areas it can't fill. You might be able to tell your graphics card to force it to expand to fullscreen, but then you might just get stretching, which would look odd.

In the options menu I was given the ability to change it from as low as 640x480 all the way up to the full 1920x1080 display.

Check under your display settings and see if its correct there, and the ratio is correct.

the resolutions have to do with what cards the game knows... if it doesnt know them as the case with laptops, ill give u some defaults ... thought it should jsut let u choose on ur own... ive noticed that newer games 2009> do this... give resolutions that they detect that card supports (and if they dont detect the card, they dont know what it supports thus giving u something .. LOL)

Which is odd, because it didn't detect my Radeon HD 5750 (when I ran the options menu, it popped up a message saying it didn't recognize my card)... Doesn't matter though, my native resolution for my 32" 1080p LCD is 1920x1080, which is one of the default options for SC2.

shadowtigers idea worked for me. i should of thought of that too...
so yah, the forced resolution fixes the game, but in the menu it doesn't show (that would have been expected)
