Are you running Starcraft II in windows XP? help!

hi,

Im trying to get starcraft II working in window XP from just copying the install folder from my windows 7 pc. this is without using admin priveleges but with some registry control (on a university computer), see my reply to this post for the full details:

Basically though, I think I need the registry entries for the XP install - would be great if someone could find the registry entries and export then (from regedit) and either upload the file or open the .reg file for editing and paste the text in reply.

I'm running it on XP.
I'll see what I can do about the registry entries once I'm back under Windows (GNU/Linux dual-booter here ).

If you can tell me exactly which keys you need, it might be faster.

Why don't you reinstall the beta and launcher+cache files directly?
Worked without any problems for me, except for the different paths, which weren't hard to find.

im a dual booter myself ubuntu 9.10/win7 64bit on my laptop 

unfortunately I dont have any idea what keys are needed for the XP - all i know is i get that message which says i need write permissions on the registry key.

I might have access to a windows xp pc/registry key if i can get to a friends house and then could install it on there, but dont know when ill be able to do that.

so would be great if someone could find they keys and post them

I actually have a full export of the registry and wanted to do a grep on it, but that doesn't seem to work. It has spaces between each character.

All you should have to do is reinstall the game. There are a bunch of directory differences outside of the registry for where the game even installs to.

No idea why you are trying to go through this the hard way.

The reason is because we can't install the game, we do not have permission to do so. Therefore we must copy the files over and hopefully and the reg keys correctly so that it can run.
