General Discussion / Invisible Areas of Maps

This has been happening since Day 1 of the beta. I thought Patch 5 fixed it but I guess they meant something else. "Fixed an issue with High graphics settings that could   cause particles not to render."

Half of the time I load a map, there are certain areas of the map that won't show any units or buildings. I can still select them, but they are invisible. I'm also unable to set rally points on these areas of the map. I've seen similiar complaints online, but no fix. It seems to have gotten much worse in Patch 4 and 5. It seems to happen nearly 80% of the time now... I'm to the point where I don't even play because I play for 4 minutes only to find out theres an entire invisible area of the map.

Does anyone else have this issue, is it a beta issue, a driver issue, or what?

I'm confused here. What's the latest version?

There's v430, rev53, and v4.4. Can we get some type of organization with the versions?

The download site claims v430 is the latest.

well it was going very well untill friday night, where i reached a dead end!
to be honest i was ready to give up because it demands a lot more time, to do so stuff,
and as i said in coding i am all alone! nobody here wants to really help! i am the only one giving tips to other programmers that pm me, but none is actually helping me out when i had an issue! >:(


BUt today this changed because 1 person is is comming to help me out and finish this for good!
i am not gona reveal his name Yet, but i will defenetly in my credits after release and here.


so right now we are back on truck, so an ETA............hmmmmmm i cant tell you cause i am waitng a part for my code from my new partener now, so maybe today, maybe Monday,,, i really dont know! but its comming and thats the most importand. Teams / Resource sharing / Units Sharing! ;D


aslo there a posibility of Total conversion of this tool's UI to Flash Animation! but later it demands a lot of hard work but i know that how to do it 100% its just toooooooooooooooooo time consuming. :-\

Great news! I would help but I know absolutely nothing about coding.

I do have a suggestion though. A loading screen, it just adds a nice touch and it's something to look at instead of a purple screen.

Agree.

The AI is about 3x slower at everything it seems, or I somehow just got much better overnight. Patch 5 seems to have broke some of the AI scripts.

Has anyone actually beat the shared bases map? Everytime I do it my AI teammate is terrible, and we end up just getting rushed by 2 AI forces (About 20-30 units). I have a force up enough to handle 1 1/2 of a force not 2. At this point my AI has maybe 3 units. Not much I do in terms of tier 2, as I only get one gas mine.

I've lasted maybe 6 minutes at most, the first rush always gets me or weakens me enough that the 2nd rush (that happens 30 seconds later!) kills me off. I'm not exactly sure how the other team is getting so many guys so fast. Was the map edited to give the AI more money or something?

I have no problems beating v6.1.1 in 1vs1... Infact, i've won the last 10 or so matches against the AI in 1vs1. But this seems impossible.

Starcraft 2 is really different. I'm using almost completely different build orders. The first 5 or so games of each race I got destroyed. The next 5 was a hit and miss.

However I'm to the point where it's almost impossible for me to lose against v6.1.1 unless i'm attacked by 3 computers at the same time or close together.

My only complaints with this launcher:
1) No Starcraft 2 version select. I want to be sure it's launching the correct version.
2) Teams are still a bit buggy, some maps aren't working anymore due to it. Kulas Ravine is the one that comes to mind.
3) The color selection is lacking, can we actually see the colors instead of names? Where's black?

Other than that everything seem good. Thanks for your work.

Everytime I play with more than 1 computer in an FFA they ALWAYS attack me first.

I'll get attacked by AI #1 about 6 minutes after starting, easily defeat them. Then i'll get attacked by AI #2 about 1 minute later, and then AI #3 1 minute after that. #3 always destroys me since I just defended off 2 attacks of equal sized forces.

I guess i'll stick to 1v1 and 2v2 until this is addressed..

Things I hope for in 7.0:
1) A fix for AI killing their own units with friendly skills. Protoss does this alot.
2) A couple more early/mid/late game builds.
3) Ive done a couple observations and the protoss wins everytime.
4) Zerg sometimes doesn't touch gas for a good 15 minutes into the game. By this time they are still using mass Zergling, and a couple Roaches. While I will have Carriers or something.

Rating AI:
Protoss 8/10 - This would be 10/10 if they would use chrono boost more accurately, and stop killing themselfs with lightning.
Terran 7/10 - They tend to still build alot of the same units. I've never actually seen them use battlecruisers.
Zerg 6/10 - Queens sit in the same base, and he builds way to many of them. Doesn't gather gas for a good 15 minutes sometimes. In my experience, by far the easiest to kill out of the 3. Never seen them use many of the air units because by the time I have carriers on the field, they are just teching to Hydras (because they lack gas).
