Quote[04:13PM] <pixartist> Sagu, is there anyone ACTUALLY working on an emulator anyway ?
[04:13PM] <@Sagu> pixartist: Yes, we are.
[04:13PM] <pixartist> neato
[04:13PM] <pixartist> and how far are you ?
[04:14PM] <pixartist> sagu, did you guys decrypt/understand the login yet ?
[04:14PM] <@Sagu> pixartist: Yep
[04:14PM] <pixartist> and does the emu work so far ?
[04:15PM] <pixartist> sagu, did you crack the dll to disable/skip parts of the login process or did you actually decrypt it in it's entirety ? and also, is the login the hardest part of creating an actual emulator ?
[04:16PM] <@Sagu> pixartist: Hardest part is cleaning up bnet.dll, rest is pretty easy.
[04:16PM] <@Sagu> pixartist: And yes, we're working on a full implementation.  No patches
[04:16PM] <pixartist> sweet :D
[04:17PM] <@Sagu> Means all you'll have to do is point sc2 at your server and login.

Maybe whoever got past authentication can share something? We are supposed to be cooperating for the greater (gamer) good right? :)

Pardon my skeptism, but usmc didn't really say a whole lot. No generic ETA, no status report, a random claim that some team possibly made it past the login screen... Nothing concrete. If emu is close, I'll be ecstatic, but what usmc said there I'm still not holding my breath.

Does anyone know one of the emu teams sites?

I didn't know there were multiple teams... the only team I know of is Team Lazytown. Go to teknogods.com and you can check them out there. Although I haven't seen them post any updates regarding the emulator...

There are 2 underground teams I am aware of that are actively working on bnet emus. The most recent burst of progress is from packet dumps and code being shared. Teknogods I believe is the most progressed from what I have read.

You can be rest assured progress on the emu will not be revealed until it is done or damn near it. Many of the teams hold a lot of pride in being the first to crack blizzards latest creation. Rightfully so, it's a big accomplishment and I would want credit for it if it was me.

I've been looked through these and teknogods forums, and as for as progress it looks like the guys here at darkblizz are ahead, because the only post about an emu server is the same as the op and no replies yet. I just wanted to give the guys at darkblizz for all their work and keeping us informed. Keep it up.

That thread on the teknogods forum was me posting this OP's thread there as well, to see if there is any news that they know of.

Does anyone know how to register on that god damn chat? It's pissing me off... I've tried multiple times to send an authentication code to my email, and it confirms it sends it, but it's never arrived.... And unless I register my nick, I can't post. Very frustrating....

Ya that's my problem. I type that in, it says it sent me a confirmation number, so I check my email, and there is nothing there. I don't have auto-delete for my spam folder, so it's not getting deleted. After a few days, I tried canceling it, and resending it. Again, it didn't arrive. I've tried it multiple times now over the past month. The stupid thing refuses to send me a confirmation email with a code.

I noticed turdbugler said on the chat that bypassing the login screen means they got past the authentication, which is a big deal. That's the biggest hurdle, and the hardest part. So hopefully we see this fairly soon... I'm eager for an official update, although I have a feeling we won't hear anything until they are ready to release it.

u never know...there could be people who cracked bnet 2.0 alrdy and not made it public due to the fear of Blizzard finding out and banning unauthorized beta users...just a thought, but if you could put it on ur own server i guess blizzard couldnt do anything about it.

I highly doubt. Being able to successfully crack Blizzard's server is no easy task, and I guarantee whomever did it would want to show that they were the first. Also, Blizzard couldn't ban them, because it's a private server. So they can't close down the private servers, and they won't be able to link these people to any real bnet accounts. So there is nothing Blizzard can do once it's cracked.
