Olre this Sc2 is and will be a masterpiece. Definitely buy the original, will also take other expansions, and how do you make so many millions of people but not having the beta key will play with the emulator to exit!
Come on boys!  ;D

oh well, just play whatever is available now, so you can at least learn the game, and just wait for retail.  remember, blizzard wants money, so they want retail released asap

This work will also pave the way for Diablo III & Warcraft 4 being emulated as well.

B.net emulation is only useful until the real game comes out anyway

Playing on an emulated b.net will never be as good as the real thing

Plus all the cheaters on emulated servers makes them crappy

Gouki

The Bnet emulator 2.0 will be post here for download more the instructions how install?  :P

Well most people will just use it to play with the friends anyway.

Edit:

Doesn't anyone else think the title of this thread is a bit misleading?

I didn't know you couldn't play with your friends if you buy the retail version

you'll be able to play with your friends, but you'll have to use the battle.net system to setup a game. no LAN games at all. meaning, with the battle.net 2.0 emulator, we should be able to fool the game into thinking we're connected, and use just a simple LAN network to setup a multiplayer game with our friends.

at least, i'm hoping that's how it'll work.

You realize that lan is supported in Blizzard's release of SC2 but it just authenticates through the net then runs the game through the lan afterward

Also in like blizzcast 12 or something if you watched they said they will support single player threw a button that says play as guest.

True, not least because sc2 is almost counter-based unit and with a maphack it disrupts the game. If the skill in one was enough to win against a cheater, now no longer suffice  :'(

Hopefully Sc2 will have a strong warden program in the retail version

I am highly skeptical about the ETA of a possible Bnet2 Emulator. It is not just auth process that needs to be reversed, matchmaking system, create game request, map request, the scoreboard handlers, etc. And ofc I will preorder the game, I won't use the emu as soon as the game is released, the real thing will be better in many ways.

Also the whole name of this topic sounds too much like a trolling name...
